The Boom XB-1, known as “Baby Boom,” is a supersonic technology demonstrator developed to validate the design and systems for Boom Supersonic’s Overture airliner. It is a single-seat, trijet aircraft built with advanced lightweight materials and designed to test aerodynamics, propulsion, and flight control technologies at supersonic speeds. In flight testing, the XB-1 successfully exceeded Mach 1, marking a major milestone for privately developed civil supersonic aircraft. The data and experience gained from the XB-1 program directly support the development of the next generation of commercial supersonic travel.
